Process

From first image to payment.

A private conversation with the people who decide, a diligence process built around the work, and prompt payment.

01The steps

One form, a clear answer.

Decisions are made by a small internal investment committee that meets weekly. We need no outside approvals and no fundraising to close.

  1. 01

    Submit

Send the work through our form. Share a link to non-confidential materials (images, provenance and condition report); we sign NDAs promptly when there is mutual interest.

  2. 02

    Initial review

Our team reviews the work, its provenance, its condition and its market.

  3. 03

    Feedback

We aim to give initial feedback within 72 hours of receiving a complete package.

  4. 04

    Inspection and diligence

If there is mutual interest, we sign an NDA promptly, inspect the work in person and confirm title, condition and authenticity.

  5. 05

    Committee decision

Decisions are made by a small internal investment committee that meets weekly. We need no outside approvals and no fundraising to close.

  6. 06

    Offer and payment

We make a firm offer, agree terms and pay promptly, as principal, then arrange insured transport and storage.

02Intermediaries

For advisors, dealers and specialists.

We maintain active relationships with art advisors, private dealers, auction house specialists, and the lawyers, trustees and executors who look after estates.

Advisor protection. We protect advisors and gallerists on the works they introduce, and we never go around the person who brought us a work.

Rolling review. We review off-market opportunities on a rolling basis, whatever the auction calendar.

Materials and NDAs. Share a link to non-confidential materials (images, provenance and condition report); we sign NDAs promptly when there is mutual interest.

Estates and trustees. We can act on an estate’s timetable and acquire a collection in whole or in part, with discretion for the family.

03Questions

Common questions.

Short answers from our published criteria.

Do your value thresholds apply to every acquisition?

No. They apply to secondary-market acquisitions: $250K–$10M+ per work or item. Our emerging-artist patronage acquires directly from primary galleries and degree shows and is not subject to these thresholds.

Which categories do you collect?

Post-war and contemporary art, collector automobiles, watches, and fine wine and spirits, by artists and makers with established auction records. Our emerging-artist patronage also acquires directly from primary galleries and degree shows.

What documentation does a work need?

An unbroken chain of title, fully documented, including literature and exhibition history; a condition report, which we require for every acquisition; and a certificate of authenticity from a recognized foundation or expert.

How do you buy?

By private treaty, and also through auction guarantees and estate liquidations. Acting as principal, we buy with our own capital and pay promptly, with no financing contingencies.

How quickly will I hear back?

We aim to give initial feedback within 72 hours of receiving a complete package. A complete package includes images, provenance, a recent condition report and an asking price or valuation rationale.

Who decides, and how long does it take?

Decisions are made by a small internal investment committee that meets weekly. We need no outside approvals and no fundraising to close. How long diligence takes depends on the work: confirming title, authenticity and condition can take longer for some works than others, and we never shortcut it.

Will my inquiry be kept private?

We transact privately: a private treaty sale is not announced, and if a deal isn’t reached, nobody needs to know the work was offered. Share a link to non-confidential materials first; we sign NDAs promptly when there is mutual interest.

I am an advisor or dealer. Are introductions protected?

Yes. We protect advisors and gallerists on the works they introduce, and we deal through the person who brought us the work.

Can I sell part of a collection or an estate?

Yes. We acquire collections in whole or in part and work with executors and trustees on estate liquidations, on a timetable that suits the estate.

Will you resell what you buy?

We hold for the long term with permanent capital, and no exit timetable forces a resale. We do refine the collection over time, deaccessioning works deliberately and choosing the channel that serves each work best.

Process

Considering a private sale?

We acquire discreetly, as principal, and pay promptly. Tell us about the work, its provenance and its condition, and you will hear from the people who decide.
